Event Venues in Olympia, Washington

Olympia is the capital of Washington State. The city was named after the majestic Olympia Mountains, which are visible to the north on a clear day. Abigail Stuart House

The Abigail Stuart House is owned and used by the Woman’s Club of Olympia. The historic house is available to rent for weddings, banquets, parties, recitals, conferences, lectures and all sorts of other events. The first floor can accommodate 150 people and includes a large meeting room that is also often used as a ballroom. The second floor can accommodate an additional 50 people and includes a dance studio.

Art House Designs is a gallery featuring contemporary art. The gallery provides a space for artists exhibitions and is available to rent for private events. The gallery has a maximum occupancy of 80 and a grand piano is available for events for an additional fee.

The Briggs Community YMCA has two heated indoor pools, a hot tub, changing rooms, an adventure zone, a fitness room, a climbing wall, a gymnasium with basketball courts, and a multipurpose room. The facility is available to rent for private parties, meetings and special events.

Capital Playhouse

The Capital Playhouse is located in downtown Olympia. The Playhouse has a 125-seat black box theater that is available to rent for events when not in use for regular productions. A stage, lighting, and sound equipment are available for use with the theater.

Capitol Theater

The Capitol Theater is a historic 1924 film and performance venue that was originally built for use with silent films and vaudeville. The theater currently runs films, holds live music events, and has a small art gallery. The theater seats 772 people or can hold 1,100 for standing events. The theater also has a smaller performance area that holds up to 150 people standing.

Columbia hall is a perfect hall for events including banquets, wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners, trade shows, parties and company dinners. The hall can accommodate 473 people. The hall has a small stage in the main room and a small kitchen. Chairs and tables are available for events.

Grand Holiday Ballroom

The Grand Holiday Ballroom event facility includes 3,300 square foot ballroom with a capacity of 225 people. The 3,100 square foot Grand Hall has a capacity of 150 people. The 1,600 square foot East Room has a capacity of 150 people. The Fireside Room and Garden Patio each have a capacity of 40 people. The facility makes a great location for weddings and receptions with a chapel that will seat 225 guests and the use of the Grand Hall for the reception and dancing.

Hands On Children’s Museum

The Hands On Children’s Museum is a fun place to hold events such as birthday and holiday parties, anniversaries, receptions, showers and reunions. The museum has five hands-on exhibit galleries and can accommodate up to three hundred people. Party and activity rooms are available for smaller events.

LBA Park

The LBA Park was developed in 1974 as a cooperative arrangement between Olympia and the Little Baseball Association. The baseball association donated the 22 + acres of land and the city built the facilities. The park has picnic areas, a playground, basketball and tennis courts, athletic fields and a running track. The park’s picnic shelter is available to rent for events.

The Olympia Center is centrally located. The center is home to the Olympia Parks, Arts and Recreation Department. The center has two fully equipped kitchens, a large event room with a stage and private entrance, and nine meeting rooms. The large event room has a capacity of 300 people or 250 with chairs and tables.

Olympia Little Theater

The Olympia Little Theater was founded in 1939 and is the oldest live theater in Olympia. The theater has seating for 100 people and is available to rent for events when not in use for scheduled performances. Professional stage lighting and sound is available for use with the theater.

Performing Arts Center at Olympia High School

The Performing Arts Center at Olympia High School is available to rent for private events. The theater can accommodate an audience of 700+ people with seats in the orchestra and additional seats in rotating areas. The theater has a 48’ proscenium stage. A backstage area is also available.

Priest Point Park

Priest Point Park is 314 acres that includes a mile of saltwater shoreline, Ellis Cove and view of Olympia and the State Capital Buildings. The park has nature trails, picnic areas, a playground and a basketball court. The park has three picnic shelters available to rent as well as a rose garden.

Washington Center for the Performing Arts

The Washington Center for the Performing Arts is home to many of the regions finest performing arts programs. The center is also available to rent for receptions, meetings, video shoots, public presentations and all sorts of other events. The center can accommodate two separate events concurrently or the entire venue can be rented. The Mainstage is a proscenium theater with four-levels that can seat 987 people. The theater has a large green room, four dressing rooms, and a production office. The theater’s three-level lobby that can accommodate up to 400 people and can be rented with or without the theater. The Black Box theater can seat up to 125 people or provide standing room for 200. The Black Box has a small adjacent lobby and dressing room.

Yauger Park includes nearly 40 acres and serves as a community park and a stormwater detention area. The park has picnic areas, nature trails, a playground, a basketball court, athletic fields, a running track, horseshoes, a skate court, and a disc golf course. The park has a reservable picnic shelter for events.
