Event Venues in Seattle, Washington

Located between the Puget Sound and Lake Washington, Seattle has the largest population of any city in the Northwestern United States. The city is known for its mild but wet climate with frequent rain. Seattle has an active performing arts scene that includes the Seattle Symphony Orchestra, the Seattle Opera, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and the 5th Avenue Theater. Seattle is also home to the Grunge movement as the hometown of bands including Nirvana, Alice and Chains, Pearl Jam, Sound Garden and Mudhoney. Discovery Park is the largest park in Seattle at 534 acres. The park is conveniently located between downtown Seattle and Ballard. The park’s Environmental Learning Center has space available to rent for retreats, parties, meetings, weddings, memorials and other ceremonies including indoor rooms and a scenic courtyard area. The 1,150 square foot Judge Vorhees Room can be combined with the classrooms to accommodate up to 65 people. The 1,000 square foot classrooms individually seat twenty-five. Gas Works Park is a twenty-acre park on Lake Union that was once plant to manufacture gas from coal. The site was reopened as a park in 1975. The old boiler house was converted into a picnic shelter with tables, grills and an open area. The exhauster-compressor building was turned into a children’s play barn with a maze of brightly painted machinery. The park has two picnic shelters, each with a capacity of 100 people. The park can accommodate parties of up to 400 people.

The Golden Gardens Bathhouse is located a a spectacular waterfront location with a forested hillside to the east and a sandy beach to the west. The bathhouse is 14 minutes from downtown Seattle, west of the Ballard neighborhood. The bathhouse is warm in the winter and cool in the summer. The Main Hall can accommodate 295 people standing or 140 people seated. The hall has cathedral ceilings with skylights that provide natural lighting. In addition, the Wet Classroom is available to use for simple food preparation and a small conference room is also available. Amenities include tables, chairs, a dry erase board and easil, and a small portable stage. A children’s play area, beach volleyball and fire pits are available near the bathhouse.

The Great Hall is 13,500 square feet of open space with hardwood floors, a second floor mezzanine, large windows and doors that open onto the Historic Ships Warf. The Officers Club is 1,200 square feet and has hardwood floors and spectacular views of Lake Union and Gasworks Park. Other small meeting rooms can accommodate between 10 and 50 people each. The Historic Ships Wharf can also be rented for parties and events.

Another is a former military prison with roll up doors and adjacent parking for up to 500 cars.
